Nov 26, 2018 -- Posted by : TV8

Mark your calendars because Snow Days is back! Snow Days is a free annual music festival hosted by Vail featuring live music around Vail Village and Lionshead, with headliners playing at Ford Park. This year the concert will be held Dec. 13-16, 2018 and kicks off with a show in Mid-Vail at 12 PM on Thursday.

The shows are free to the public, however guests can purchase VIP tickets for the headlining acts at Ford Park. VIP tickets will allow guests access to designated VIP areas, a preferred viewing section, and complimentary food and beverage.

Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Wildermiss, Shakey Graves, and The Devon Allman Project will be headlining on Friday Dec. 14 and Saturday Dec. 15. Ford Park is an outdoor venue with no seating, and gates will open at 6 PM.

Parking is located in the Vail Village and Lionshead parking structures, with street parking available once both lots are full. The Vail Public Transportation Center must be used for any drop offs or pick-ups, and guests can then walk or use public transit to get to Ford Park. Drop offs will not be permitted at the venue.

Headliners start playing at 6:30 PM Friday and Saturday, with additional live music every day at 4 PM in Vail Village and Lionshead. There will also be other events throughout the weekend, such as various pub crawls and early season shopping offers.

Each day Savor Vail will be offering exclusive deals at various shops and restaurants. Participating businesses include Blue Moose Vail, Vail Chop House, The Sebastian, Vista Bahn Ski Rentals, and Arriesgado Clothing Company.

Starting Friday and going through Sunday another event, Festival Village, will be held from 9 AM-4 PM at the base of Gondola One in Vail Village and at the International Bridge from 11 AM-5 PM. The event will offer demos, expos, and product sampling.

The Line Up

Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats will be kicking off the headlining shows at Ford Park on Friday evening with Wildermiss. Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats is a Denver based band grounded in soul and R&B with elements of garage rock, jazz, and folk. In 2015 the band debuted with a self-titled album that was a huge hit, and kept them on the road for two years touring. In 2017 they released their second album Tearing at the Seams, which brings the same boundless energy as their first album.

Wildermiss is a guitar-driven pop quartet, also based out of Denver. They are beloved by fans and critics alike with an impassioned grassroots following. The quartet has been described by The Music District as “one of the most exciting acts to emerge from the Mile High City,” and have been compared to big names, like Local Natives, Echosmith, and Florence and the Machine.

On Saturday night Shakey Graves will be headlining with The Devon Allman Project with special guest Duane Betts. Shakey Graves is an Americana band from Austin, Texas that plays a combination of blues, folk, and rock and roll. In 2015 the band was named the Best Emerging Artist by Americana Music Awards and has since put out an EP and Album, both released in 2018.

Joining Shakey Graves will be The Devon Allman Project with special guest Duane Betts. The Devon Allman Project is a six piece band featuring two percussionists, a bassist, and a Hammond B3 player. The show will feature a 30 minute opening set with Duane Betts using his go to guitar player, Johnny Stachela, and Devon’s rhythm section. The Devon Allman Project will follow with a one hour set culminating with a 30 minute plus encore featuring all eight musicians playing Allman Brothers tunes and other classics.
