Vail Colorado: The Rise of America’s Iconic Ski Resort

Jun 5, 2017 -- Posted by : TV8

In 1962, a remote mountain valley was transformed into a ski resort that is now loved by millions. It all started when local boy Earl Eaton showed 10th Mountain Veteran Pete Seibert the vast open bowls on the backside of what is now Vail Mountain. Pete was overwhelmed, and knew he had found his dream. Seibert and his fellow pioneers acquired the land and forest service approvals. It wasn’t long before ski bums and millionaires arrived and gave their hearts and souls to making Vail a reality. Nothing was easy. Vail’s early residents faced more challenges than they ever could have imagined.
